Rodri is still one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League, arguably the world, and City know it. The gap between offer and asking price is only £5m on paper but in practice these negotiations can drag for weeks.

From a betting angle, keep an eye on the 'Rodri to Barcelona' transfer market. Right now the odds likely sit at a cautious price. We'd expect them to shorten as the window moves on, but we wouldn't back it as a certainty given City's stubbornness in negotiations.

The Spence Exit and What It Tells Us About Spurs

Djed Spence is heading to Inter Milan for around 30m euros plus add-ons, with a medical reportedly set for Friday. This one looks done.

For Tottenham, it's a sensible bit of business. Spence never really nailed down a starting spot and shipping him for £25m-plus is good value for a player who spent time on loan at various clubs. For Inter, they're picking up a young, quick Premier League-trained full-back at a reasonable price.

The interesting angle here is what Spurs do with the funds. Ange Postecoglou is still building, and every sale of fringe players adds to the war chest. Spurs' summer business is worth watching if you're looking at their Premier League title odds, which remain long but are moving in a more interesting direction.

Arsenal's Busy Summer Gets Even Busier

Arsenal were rejected in a move for Atletico Madrid's Marc Pubill, which tells you two things. One, they're actively looking to strengthen at right back. Two, the market in that position is competitive and expensive.

More significant is the Gabriel Jesus situation. Reports are linking Napoli with a move for Lorenzo Lucca as a potential replacement, which would free them up to go after Jesus. At 29 and with an injury-hit couple of seasons, Jesus leaving wouldn't be a shock but it would shift Arsenal's striker market sharply.

Arsenal's Premier League title odds are worth monitoring here. A major attacking departure without a replacement would be a red flag. Back them to win the title only if the summer business holds up on both ends.

Ruben Amorim's AC Milan Clearout

This is one of the more eyebrow-raising stories in the batch. Ruben Amorim has reportedly told eight players at AC Milan they're surplus to requirements, with Fikayo Tomori and Christopher Nkunku among those named.

For Premier League clubs, this is a clearance sale worth paying attention to. Tomori in particular would attract serious interest from the top half of the table. Nkunku too, if the price is right. Both players have the quality to step straight back into Premier League football.

Watch for both to be linked with Premier League moves over the coming weeks. If Tomori ends up at a Champions League contender, it could shift the defensive depth picture at several clubs.

Hull are having a serious go at strengthening ahead of what looks like a promotion push. Gourna-Douath from Red Bull Salzburg plus a £15m-plus bid for Iroegbunam in the same window is ambitious for a Championship club.

Ipswich meanwhile are targeting Freiburg's Derry Scherhant and were knocked back for Palacios by Leverkusen. The Scherhant move feels more achievable and would be a smart bit of business if they can get it done.

Everton's situation with Iroegbunam is one to follow too. If Hull's offer is accepted, that's meaningful transfer income for a club that badly needs it.
