Overview of Evolution

You play Evolution’s games through a casino, not Evolution, so the casino’s licence and terms matter as much as the game.

Not every Evolution game is live. First Person games are computer-generated (see the licence and testing panel).

Evolution’s own timeline credits its Dream Catcher (2017) with creating the live game show category. Its locations page lists main hubs in Riga (Latvia), Malta and Tbilisi (Georgia), more studios in Europe, the Americas and the Philippines, and over 2,000 live tables.

History of Evolution

Evolution AB is a Swedish public company founded in 2006; it describes its starting idea as bringing live entertainment online. Its timeline records listings on Nasdaq First North Premier in Stockholm (20 March 2015) and Nasdaq Nordic (2017); its shares now trade on Nasdaq Stockholm under the ticker EVO.

It bought Ezugi in 2018 and NetEnt, NetEnt Casino and Red Tiger in 2020, and agreed to buy Big Time Gaming in 2021, its timeline says. The group’s brands now include NetEnt, Red Tiger, Big Time Gaming, Nolimit City and Ezugi.

Example titles

Four live games, described from Evolution’s own game pages: examples, not a ranking. Some features vary by jurisdiction, Evolution says, so check each game’s information screen.

Lightning Roulette

Live single-zero roulette with software-drawn Lucky Numbers. After betting closes, one to five Lucky Numbers get random payouts of 50× to 500×. A straight-up win on a Lucky Number pays that multiplier; any other straight-up win pays 29:1, not the usual 35:1. Other bets pay as standard. These rules cover this title only: check XXXtreme Lightning Roulette and First Person versions separately. Evolution’s rules · worked example in our roulette guide.

Crazy Time

Money-wheel game show with four bonus games. You bet on 1, 2, 5 or 10, or on the Cash Hunt, Pachinko, Coin Flip and Crazy Time bonus games. A Top Slot can add a random multiplier to a bet spot. Evolution’s page gives one RTP, 96.08%, and a 1 in 6 chance of a bonus round each spin; check the in-game help for your bet. Evolution’s game page.

Super Sic Bo

Three-dice Sic Bo with random multipliers. After betting closes, the game’s RNG picks some bet spots (from none to several, Evolution says) for multipliers of up to 1,000×. Small (4–10) and Big (11–17) bets lose to any triple. Evolution’s game page.

First Person versions are separate, animated RNG games. First Person Blackjack, for example, offers five hands a round, Perfect Pairs and 21+3 side bets, and a “Go Live” button to a live table. Sources: Evolution’s First Person page and First Person Blackjack page, read 9 October 2026.

Licence and testing: what we could check

Evolution’s licence page lists 41 entries for its Evolution brand, from Malta and Great Britain to several US states and Canadian provinces; none is Malaysian or Singaporean. We checked one, the UK Gambling Commission’s register, on 9 October 2026. A supplier licence covers Evolution, not your casino.

UK register. Evolution Malta Holding Limited (account 41655) holds remote Gambling Software and Game Host (Casino) activities, both active under licence 041655-R-322523-013. It lists one regulatory action, a settlement of 23 July 2026: five genuine Evolution games had been found on six websites run by two operators without a British licence but open to players in Great Britain. The Commission found serious failings in Evolution’s anti-money-laundering controls from April 2024 to January 2025. Evolution will pay £4,750,000 in lieu of a financial penalty and agreed to an independent audit of those controls. The Commission also says Evolution, once notified in December 2024, immediately blocked the games in Great Britain, co-operated fully and responded swiftly, and that its later testing found no further instances of concern. Live or First Person? Live games stream a real dealer or presenter in real time from a studio or casino floor. In First Person games, a random number generator (RNG) deals the cards, spins the wheel and shakes the dice in 3D animation. Some live games add RNG features, such as Lightning Roulette’s Lucky Numbers. Evolution says independent test labs certify its First Person RNGs; we did not inspect a certificate. Evolution’s explanation

Conclusion

Evolution publishes its game rules, and its British supplier record, settlement included, is public. Neither tells you whether a casino showing its games is licensed, pays out or is legal where you live. Check the casino’s own licence and terms (our review methodology explains how) and the law in Malaysia and Singapore. Support: our responsible gambling resources.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Evolution says its live games stream in real time with a real dealer or host. First Person games are not recordings either but animated RNG games, so check the full title, such as “First Person Blackjack”.

There is no single answer. Evolution gives maximums for some games, such as up to 20,000× in the Crazy Time bonus game, but a maximum says nothing about how often it pays. Compare ordinary payouts and the listed return instead.

No. Only a straight-up bet on one of the one to five Lucky Numbers is multiplied, at 50× to 500×. Other straight-up wins pay 29:1; all other bets pay as standard.

Yes, as a supplier: on 9 October 2026 the UK Gambling Commission’s register showed Evolution Malta Holding Limited (account 41655) with active remote Gambling Software and Game Host (Casino) activities. It also lists a July 2026 settlement over anti-money-laundering failings in 2024–25, after genuine Evolution games were found on websites without a British licence; the Commission says Evolution responded swiftly and that its later testing found no further instances of concern.

No. We found no supplier-wide figure on Evolution’s pages, and one figure for a whole catalogue would not tell you your game’s return. Where Evolution lists one, as with Crazy Time’s 96.08%, it is on that game’s card; otherwise check the game’s help screen.

Editor's Tip

A genuine Evolution game does not make a casino licensed or legal where you live. Before depositing, check the casino’s licence on the regulator’s register and its withdrawal terms.
